Donor-advised fund giving

Recommend a DAF grant to The Chahal Foundation.

Start in your sponsor portal, confirm the intended organization, review the sponsor's current rules, and submit a grant recommendation for general support or an established charitable purpose.

Sponsor-controlled process

Your DAF sponsor decides whether the Foundation is available, what information is required, whether a purpose preference is permitted, how long processing takes, and what documentation is issued.

Grant recommendation process

Keep the search, approval, and distribution inside the sponsor system.

Step 1

Open your sponsor portal

Use the website or support channel for the organization that administers your donor-advised fund.

Step 2

Search for the Foundation

Search for Chahal Foundation or EIN 39-5160137. Confirm that the sponsor returns the intended organization before proceeding.

Step 3

Review the sponsor rules

The sponsor determines grant eligibility, minimums, timing, permitted designations, required information, and documentation.

Step 4

Submit the recommendation

Enter the amount and, if available, a clear charitable-purpose preference. The sponsor controls approval and distribution.

Organization details

Use the Foundation's exact legal name and EIN.

Compare the sponsor search result against these details before submitting a grant recommendation.

DAF questions

Separate sponsor responsibilities from Foundation responsibilities.

Does the Foundation control my DAF account or grant approval?

No. The DAF sponsor administers the account, determines its rules, reviews the recommendation, and controls the distribution. The Foundation can provide organization details and respond to a grant inquiry.

How long will a DAF grant take?

Timing varies by sponsor, account, review status, delivery method, and the information provided. Use the sponsor portal or support team for a current estimate.

Can I request a program designation?

If the sponsor allows a memo or purpose preference, you may identify an established charitable area. The Foundation must review and accept any restriction before treating the grant as restricted.

What tax documentation will I receive?

The sponsor is responsible for DAF account and tax documentation. After a grant is received and identified, the Foundation may provide an acknowledgment of receipt. Do not treat a grant recommendation as a new personal charitable deduction without advice from the sponsor or a qualified adviser.

What if I cannot find the Foundation in my portal?

Search both Chahal Foundation and EIN 39-5160137. If the record is still unavailable, ask the sponsor what verification it requires and use the inquiry form below to request current Foundation documentation.

DAF documentation and notice

Ask for verification material or tell the Foundation to watch for a grant.

Do not submit a DAF account number, login, password, tax return, or transfer authorization. Share only the sponsor name, expected purpose, approximate timing, and the documentation you need.

DAF grant support

Tell us whether you need organization verification, designation guidance, or help identifying a pending grant.
